Living Exhibition Barcelona 2023

On November 28th, 2023, the official opening of the Living Exhibition is taking place in Barcelona at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia within the framework of Responsive Cities. The Urban Shift Living Exhibition will close the two day symposium bringing international guests, speakers and participants. Join us to see the prototypes developed by the students, as well as the selected projects from the Call for Green Innovation.

About Responsive Cities

Responsive Cities is a biennial international symposium on the future of cities organized by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia.
The 2023 edition focuses on “Collective Intelligence Design” and takes place within the framework of the Green Skills for Cities project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and developed by the Advanced Architecture Group of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia -IAAC- (Spain), Vienna University of Economics and Business -WU- (Austria), University of Genoa -UNIGE- (Italy), and European Association for Local Democracy -ALDA- (France). The Urban Shift Living Exhibition event closes the two day symposium showcasing innovative projects demonstrating the importance of bring people from different disciplines together.

A Reflection of the Exhibition

The official opening of the exhibition took place after the Responsive Cities Symposium, bringing together an international crowd of professionals and students. Live music was played by Nati Cerutti and the keynote presentation were led by Chiara Farinea presenting Urban Shift, Andrea Conserva presenting the work of URBiNAT, a Horizon 2020 project, and Yerwant Megurditchian sharing his experience of developing a start-up. The presentations were followed by a short round table moderated by Areti Markopoulou and Fiona Demeur. In addition, Marite Guevara joined the panel discussion on the importance of transdisciplinary education and green innovation.

Poblenou Open Night

On November 24th, 2023, IAAC particpated in the Poblenou Open Night with Fab Lab Barcelona. The Urban Shift Living Exhibition was set up early to participate in this Open Night with more than 500 people passing through the doors of IAAC. Visitors were particularly impressed by the Living Exhibition Exhibit, interacting with the different prototypes and reading the descriptions of the start-ups.
