Living Labs

Living Labs is a programme that will take place in two batches, over three years. 80 learners will have the opportunity to take part in this experimental, impact-based, and transdisciplinary education programme that focuses on creating lasting change by bringing together students from Higher Education Institutions (HEI), a Vocational Education Institution (VET), urban experts, and business partners.

The programme will develop 10 start-ups tackling the urban challenges of:

  • Urban Heat Islands
  • Food Waste/Circularity
  • Mobility/Circularity
  • Extreme Weather Events

Each batch will include a Cities Network Engagement Roundtable (CNER) and culminate in a travelling Living Exhibition. Students will receive training from their institutions as well as specialised skills training from the business partners involved in the project. Feedback will be used from the first round of Living Labs to adapt and improve the Living Curriculum. Find out more about all aspects mentioned by following the links on this page.
